How to interpret the result

Use the estimated FPS as a planning scenario, not a benchmark. A CPU-limit warning means the selected processor may prevent the new GPU from delivering its full normalized score uplift.

Calculation methodology

The tool compares internal normalized GPU scores. It caps usable GPU score at 115% of the selected CPU score, scales the entered FPS by the effective score ratio, and separately reports VRAM and board-power changes.

The calculator runs in your browser from the values you select. Estimates use transparent planning rules and the site’s normalized hardware data; they are not lab benchmarks.

Estimated gain = (new effective GPU score / current effective GPU score - 1) x 100

Calculation steps

  1. Compare the current and proposed GPU normalized scores.
  2. Apply a CPU-side ceiling to both GPU scores.
  3. Scale current FPS by the effective ratio and compare VRAM and power.

Assumptions and limitations

  • Normalized scores are editorial comparison inputs, not measured FPS for every game.
  • Drivers, game engine, resolution, ray tracing, cooling and power limits can change real gains.
